Joy within ITLADian theory

[Written in the interests of balance, and as a counter-contemplation to the excellent previous post by Hurlyburly]

How has Tony’s book and this blog brought Joy to your lives, or made you see things in a more positive light?

I’ll post my own thoughts in the comments to save blog space, and welcome ALL to share your stories and thoughts.

Since synchrondipitously being directed to Tony’s book through a friend of mine within the Radio sector, and then meeting the fellow himself and sinking several an ale together on numerous occasions while contemplating all life’s wonders and fabulousness, ITLAD has opened my eyes even wider than they were already to what the nature of existence, consciousness and reality actually is.

Such has allowed me to generate my own ideas, to which I shall always accredit Tony as fathering and mentoring, and has introduced me to such wonderous people as all of you here on this blog.

I feel my life is greatly enriched by ITLAD and Tony himself, and I’m sure that all of you will equally say how ITLAD theory has brought Joy to areas of your life, where once was darkness.

SM Kovalinsky said...

Well I agree heartily that Tony's theories produce joy, and I hope that joyous gratitude was evident in my homage to him in the Hamlet post. I also can extend this latter to all forms of music ( I now listen to John Foxx, Morrissey, Kraftwerk and even Emimen with Nietzsche's "third ear" to a greater degree of intensity due to Tony). . . and Nietzsche himself - I am sure of it - would have loved Tony's eidolon/daemon theory: He would have quoted from it and was himself hinting of this same in passages of suggestive beauty throughout the Gay Science, Geneology of Morals, Ecce Homo. So yes, there is joy in all things Peakian, in the man himself. . . I owe the greater part of my sanity to the accidental finding of his Paradigm essay on the internet, which marked a turning point in my grieving , for I had come dangerously close to falling again into the hands of Kierkegaard and his sinister alienation. . .

Susan Marie: Thank You, it is interesting to see and hear how many different ways ITLAD has brought meaning to people, their lives and eased them through difficult periods of loss and grief as well as towards new feelings of hope and excitement.

Maybe ALL of us have been Daemonically guided to ITLAD at this precise time for a hugely important and specific purpose?

Now THAT is a TIWIGI moment and a half!!!

*ponders*

SM Kovalinsky said...

Well as to your last point: Isn't it obvious? "and to be wished and aided? and hastened and furthered and granted all forms of help and. . . " (being tongue in cheek re Nietzsche's own joy)

Karl Le Marcs said...

Susan Marie: Yes, Dear Lady, it is becoming glaringly obviously to me.

And hopefully much more Joy can be brought to all.

johar said...

I went looking for answers that would bring meaning into my life after my loss. I found it with Tony's book.

However, pulling this and Hurly's post together somewhat, once I had read the book, I did got through a period where the idea of suicide was very enticing.

If we get to do it all again, maybe next time it wouldn't happen, maybe I would be more self aware and intervene some how.

With hindsight I realise there was a strong component of guilt in this thought process. I wanted the chance to save the person I had lost.

This didn't actually feel like a dark thought process at the time, I was excited by the idea of having another chance, hence the reason it was so appealing.

The book and this place where I find all of you have grown me. My joy is that I'm still here and getting stronger

Thank you all.

Karl Le Marcs said...

Johar: Wonderful, thank you for sharing that, I'm sure many will take much from your words.

I ADORE your final statement so excuse me for re-quoting it here:

"The book and this place where I find all of you have grown me. My joy is that I'm still here and getting stronger."

Beautiful JoJo, absolutely beautiful.

SM Kovalinsky said...

Yes, I agree, and I have always found Johar to be uncannily intuitive in all she places in her remarks and posts, and just yesterday another blogger and I were remarking by email regarding the consistent and sweet nature of her intelligence. Johar is part of the joy for me, and especially beginning with our talk of our respective fathers/husbands deaths.

SM Kovalinsky said...

And Ruth is a most profound and sweet joy as well: Tony has indeed generated joy in the darkness; he is a regular joy-spreader, that man!!!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Susan Marie: I agree, JoJo has often astonished me with how she grasps the concepts within ITLAD and my own theory. Some of her emailed questions to me have been wonderful. (some slight guidance back on track is necessary occasionally but such is life and such is the role of the Daemon).
*smiles at JoJo*

There is much to connect us in our Quantum Entanglements and a mutual understanding and empathy is essential. We can all help one another after all, we are all one consciousness.

Karl Le Marcs said...

Ra from Ca (via Susan Marie):

I do hope we hear from Ruth here yes, as she is an important cog in this ITLADic wheel and her story from horrendous loss to a brighter position is tremendoudly inspiring to you personally, and also would be to all of us.

And "Tony has indeed generated joy in the darkness; he is a regular joy-spreader, that man!!!

You've obviously not spent as much time as I have listening to his gags!!!

*GROUP HUG*

Thank you for your wonderful comments Karl and Susan Marie. You're both very sweet.

I couldn't ask for a nicer group of people to bare my soul to! I really do mean that.

I have 2 little online commnities. The view askew message board and this little corner of the world. Both provide me with creative outlets for both humour & knowledge. The sheer number of friendships i have formed in the last few years from such places is astounding and I beleive this forum to be a crucial stepping stone in all of the paths of those who post here. I'm very thankful i stopped in my tracks on that day and went into that book shop to buy Tony's book (at a third of the original price)

*EVERYBODY!! STAY HAPPY AND POSITIVE, IT CONFUSES PEOPLE, THEN YOU CAN REALLY MESS WITH THEIR HEADS!!! (OH, ERM, I MEAN... ;0) )

I'm in awe of you all! What an inspiration this group is!

It's been over 20 years since the most traumatic loss in my life, the death of my father. My grieving was textbook style and I've moved on to have my own family. Dad would have loved the ideas presented by Tony. He had a very curious nature and an open mind. (this amazed me since he was a simple Oklahoma country boy)

So to answer the question;

ITLAD has given me much to smile about when I think in terms of my Father and his many adventures he must have had *wink*

It's been a catalyst in helping me "tune in" to and trust my own daemon.

And has broadened my understanding of the theories and sciences that make up perception and consciousness.

We can never know too much, huh?

Always...curious and curiouser!

What can I say. Keeping up with the blog the last few days has been a task and a half. The 'comments' have been coming in thick and fast.

However this particular posting and series of responses makes me feel profoundly humble. It was always my hope that ITLAD would touch those who read it but this is way beyond any of my expectations. Thank you Karl for starting this thread but also thank you to everybody involved in this blogsite. It is becoming a phenomenon in its own right and you, my friends, have made this happen just as much as I have.

Indeed it has always been my hope that that CTF takes on a life of its own. It is not 'owned' by me rather like Einstein didn't 'own' relativity'. The concept is outside of us all.

This has stimulated me to place a post that will contain a particular description I wrote in the original version of ITLAD. I will do this when I have a moment (by the way my inbox on AOL has also gone mad the last few days. I feel that I am not waving, I'm drowning! - but it is all positive and very exciting!!!!

Apart from the "s" word I agree wholehearteadly with your comments JoJo. We can all help each other through a mutual respect and empathy.

And I'm sure Tony is literally jumping for joy at your parsimonious ITLAD discovery!

Ok here I am joining the joy post. It is a strong word joy, and maybe that's why I have delayed. But thanks to Tony and all of you for being kind and including me here. The ideas being discussed at this blog keep engaged and appreciative of life, and your humour and loveliness are a joy. There I said it.

Karl Le Marcs said...

Tony: Yep, see what you've done young man!!!

You're very welcome mate, you deserve to fully appreciate just how much of a positive difference your book has made.

Personally I have been deeply moved by the kind comments made on here towards my posts and theories and I know from private emails just how much ITLAD has been important in the literal salvation of some, so I wanted to help show you that.

And taken together with HurlyBurly's excellent post I wished only to create a balance for anyone who comes to ITLAD in a vulnerable state of mind.

We are all one consciousness, and therefore never alone.

KARL!

IT'S YOUR ROUND!

The harem are getting thirsty and all this bonhomie requires raised glasses!

*CHEERS!*

Karl Le Marcs said...

Johar: Hee Hee !!!!!
It does always appear to be my round yes! It must be a tradition, or an old charter. Or Something!
*smiles to dear Robert Rankin*

And don't let's begin all this "Harem" hooplah again. Despite the suggested outfits being most alluring I would rather we all just enjoy a spot of lolling in the ITLADian sunshine with some infusion of choice.

*raises glass (half empty or half full surely depends on how thirsty you are) to bonhomie and high jinks*

SM Kovalinsky said...

Stop throwing a damper on my harem idea-------it has a higher meaning--and JoJo and Ruth "get it" in the loftier aspects. . .

Susan Marie - *giggles* nicely said.

Karl,

I look forward to lolling in the ITLADian sunshine and high jinx!

I can accept the higher meaning, it's just material platitudes that my frail ego can't cope with.

So at the loftier aspect I will certainly join you.

Blog Moderator ambles in (as only those with meaningless authority can do); takes off the Diamante encrusted 'Peaked' cap with BLOG MOD emblazoned across it in Rubies and Emeralds, and chucks it in the air! As given this is a post about Joy, Happiness and all the wonderous stuff that our consciousness and ITLAD can bring, then pretty much anything goes really.

But nobody start Morris Dancing, obviously!

Anonymous said...

I discovered ITLAD only a few days ago and the whole thing so far has been a joyful awakening of experiences and knowledge stretching back over my lifetime. It feels as if the light has been switched on and I can now percieve the links that make sense of everything.

I have an overwhelming urge to keep saying to my self "Of course - that explains it!" as I read the book or listen to Tony. And needless to say things keep happening in my life that confirm or illustrate what I am discovering.

And the word "Joy" has been sprinkled liberally over everything this week!

johar said...

YAAAAAAAAY

Can we start belly dancing now!!!!?

The hips don't lie you know!

Anthony Peake said...

Who is this Morris? And why is he so keen to dance?

I think we should be told!

p.s. I went to see Fairport Convention last weekend. Am I possibly infected with "heynonynoistis"?

Anonymous said...

No sign of wanting to do Morris Dancing though!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Woodsprite: Welcome, welcome, welcome. How wonderful that you should join us!

Fantastic comments, thank you.

If you found ITLAD illuminating, I would suggest some good sunglasses and some Factor 50 as this blog shines so bright sometimes.

johar said...

*whispers to Tony* I think Morris is Karl's imaginary friend!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Johar: Belly Dancing is acceptable yes, maybe even bring those jingle belts along as well, eh?

Anonymous said...

I'd love to join in the dancing but my repertoire is a bit limited. I can offer throwing myself around with abandon or Cajun!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Tony: *HA! HA!*

(from BlackAdder II)

Percy: Pishroomie, Edmund! You're in good fooling this morning.

Edmund: Don't say `Pishroomie', Percy -- only stupid actors say `Pishroomie'.

Percy: Hah hah! Tush, My Lord.

Edmund: ...and don't say `Tush', either! It's only a short step from `Tush' to `Hey Nonny Nonny'; and then, I'm afraid, I'll shall have to call the police.

Ha Ha!

And Morris??? Oh he's just a Miner I once knew!

*oh dear!!!!*

Anonymous said...

Eeeeks! Nobody warned me about the daftness!

I knew I felt at home!!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Woodsprite: I would fear not of your limited dance moves and mere offerings of throwing yourself around with abandon!

Whereas in most professions these would be considerable drawbacks, in ITLADic circles they are a positive boon!

*pythonesque smiles*

Karl Le Marcs said...

Johar: It's seldom effective to whisper to somewhile while holding a megaphone!

*giggles*

And leave Morris alone, he's just a Minor character!

*shakes head at self*

Karl Le Marcs said...

Woodsprite: We let our collective hair down now again, it's good for morale and gives us a break from our usual cerebral convulsions!!

I have a feeling you will fit in well here!

Welcome again, and enjoy the ride!

Anonymous said...

Why, thank you!

Karl Le Marcs said...

*bows respectfully then panics when realises glass is empty*

Anthony Peake said...

WOODSPRITE: I bet that you did not expect this frivolity? Welcome aboard. I am sure that you will really enjoy your involvement with us itladians. Expect more of the same but also some really challenging ideas being danced around the Maypole!

Karl Le Marcs said...

Nobody expects the ITLADic inquisition!
Our chief weapon...........
(etc)

Tony, are those bells on the end of your shoes?????

*smile*

We all cogitate and contemplate, deliberate and ponder over life's deeper meanings on here for many an hour on many a day, so it's good to shake off the shackles of the cerebral cuffs and just have a giggle once in a while.

It's good for morale!

Normal service will be resumed shortly; please do not adjust your sets.

Anonymous said...

Anything but not the Morris dancing,,, the bells, the bells!
The big sticks! The hankies!

Seriously though...
I feel I've discovered something really special. These are big ideas and challenging in every way.. intellectually and emotionally. It's good to know that we can appreciate the absurd and find joyfullness as well as recognising the underlying importance of it all. Thanks for a great welcome.

I'm glad you share my feelings!
I was quoted by a friend of mine once at a party or some such where I said "I'll try anything once except Morris Dancing". I've little memory of that evening for various reasons but she assured me that I did say it and in fairness it does sound like the kind of rhubarb I am likely to utter once in a while.

However, whilst I am delighted you feel welcomed into our gang of ITLADist here within this post of fun and frivolity, I would direct you to the following to help you with some of the vernacular we use:

ITLAD Glossary

And if you can't sleep one evening or really want to see how this wonderful group of minds can come together over a series of posts and comments to bring forth a whole new theory of consciousness then enjoy the ride through these three:

1. Peakeian Daemonlogy

2. The 'Sensation' Of Being Stared At

3. Where Is The Internet? (An Analogy)

And don't worry about climbing aboard a soap box on occasion as I'm often on one myself, whilst also on a high horse!! The dismount from which is particularly difficult!

Good to hear you've felt a positive force from Tony's book and all our ramblings on here.

My joy comes from the many questions ITLAD (and this blog) poses. It’s all too easy to become complacent in our beliefs. ITLAD forces us to reexamine what we think we know. And it does not matter the conclusions we reach, it is the getting there that makes the journey fun.

Karl Le Marcs said...

RAC: Thanks Robert.

If you want questions to be asked then I'm ya man! But strap yourself in 'cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

*smile*

I agree entirely about re-examining what we 'thought' was reality. Indeed I often question everything, even myself, which admittedly does become somewhat confusing!

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and around and around and it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud. And it's fun...........for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question; is this real? Or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because... this is just a ride.""

johar said...

I have been cogitating somewhat and with help from Karl, would like to say this:
In the suggested Virgin Life there exists a unity of being: the Eidolon.
Upon death we re-live our lives within the Bohmian IMAX playback of our past life review, in real time. It is multi-sensory and multi dimensional, but still a playback of a recording. In NDE we experience the “being in white”, the alleged manifestation of the Daemon that guides us away from the Eidolonic death to begin another replay. So within the recording we perceive that we have an Eidolon when it is actually the Daemon that runs the recording. The Daemon is our guide, helping us to evolve, life after life, to reach our full potential and ultimate goal (Ultimate Life). We contain within ourselves our own personal divinity. The higher power is the Daemon: In effect, US!
Also, if the Daemon is the guide that holds the remote control for the playback of the recording and is also (collectively) the objective connection between all of us then we create the universal power as well. We create our own personal divinity that we experience within our subjective consciousness but which ultimately and holistically exists as a oneness within the objective consciousness field.

I'm quite joyful at the idea of being divine!
